The mission: At PBS NewsHour (2018–2022), I built and maintained high-traffic digital products for election coverage — including the 2018 midterms and the record-breaking 2020 presidential election. I worked with Upstatement and NewsHour teams to deliver real-time data, clear visualizations, and visual storytelling across web and broadcast-adjacent surfaces.

My contributions:

  • Web component development: Designed and refined data-driven components for race results, electoral maps, and survey analysis. Emphasized visual clarity and responsiveness.
  • Broadcast and digital adaptation: Ensured smooth transition of graphics from large-format visuals to web and social media, maintaining a cohesive experience across platforms.
  • Workflow efficiency: Proactively identified areas to streamline the content update process, minimizing manual tasks during tight deadlines.
  • Cross-platform performance: Prioritized code optimization for quick loading and accurate displays regardless of a user's device or connection.
